General Electric, a long-standing client of Dom & Tom, was looking for a way to construct and implement an intuitive animated front end, allowing its users to easily visualize changes in data by giving them the ability to connect their machines, data, insights, and people across to the world. By creating this platform, the General Electric sales team would easily be able to illustrate their services in a manner that consumers could easily understand.
GE wished to help solve operational challenges to gain a competitive advantage and drive new performance possibilities for its customers. The Dom & Tom team worked closely with the internal General Electric team, as well as their Creative Director to create a web platform that is not only user-friendly, but visually impressive.
Our Plan & Process
The Dom & Tom team planned out everyday use cases and developed product workflows alongside the General Electric team. Additionally, took creative mockups provided by GE to use as a starting point for the design of the site. The Dom & Tom development team meticulously designed, constructed and tested back-end processes for reading General Electric’s API to display the information in a way that was easy to read and understand.
Dom & Tom decided to utilize HTML5 Responsive Web App and Mapbox to create the ideal product.
Dom & Tom delivered version 1 of the dynamic, interactive mapping data visualization platform as part of a larger software initiative. Following the completion of the V1 platform, Dom & Tom helped the General Electric team sell its value to C-Suite executives at their annual meeting. GE Intelligent Platforms has since become a core tool to drive new performance possibilities for their business and customers. The app was featured at the GE Minds + Machines Conference.
