Dom & Tom open new Chicago office!

This just in – a special report written by Dom and Tom Tancredi:

The Chicago office of Dom & Tom Inc officially opened September 1, much to the surprise of management.

“We have a Chicago office?” inquired CEO and founder Dom Tancredi. “Can I Google it?” After a quick internet search Dom confirmed that indeed there is a new branch of Dom & Tom Inc in Chicago. Tom was unavailable for comment due to being engaged in an ongoing hide-and-seek game with business associate Kenny H. for 3 weeks running.

Despite neither owners Dom nor Tom Tancredi being aware of the other Dom & Tom branch opening in their hometown, crowds were still large for opening day. Fans camped out as early as Monday to be the first attendees of Chicago branch, with lines stretching well around the block by Wednesday night.

“It’s very exciting stuff. Even though there’s really nothing to buy, I’m eager to be the first to be there in case, you know, I can design a mobile app” - Paul P., 28. Paul has been a fan of Dom & Tom Inc for 2 years, ever since they agreed to pay him for his fantastic work.

Opinions at Dom & Tom Inc (New York branch) were varied, with many of the employees wondering what exactly the new office meant.

Veteran programmer Danny S. - “Is it a parallel office, like a parallel universe? Does it have another Danny S.? Will that Danny help me solve my bugs?” When finding out that there was no other Danny Saad, Danny had this to say: “All in all, while it would have been awesome, it’s probably best for everyone.” Project Manager Audrey D., voicing several employee sentiments, wondered if two offices meant two paychecks. Informed sources close to the story have neither confirmed nor denied the possibility.

The new Dom & Tom Inc office is located in the Ukranian Village, specifically: 820 N California, Chicago, IL 60622. The office is managed by Managing Partner Dan Costalis. When asked about the opening of the branch, he replied, “The clients, community, and city are very supportive of this initiative. What can I say? The time was right to open another branch, so I did it. And it’s not like I did it entirely without a Tancredi – after all, their younger brother Joe is heading up Project Management.” Joe was recently hired to manage accounts and projects at the Chicago office. He first official day was September 1st, the same day the office opened. When asked his thoughts on the opening he said, “It was the right thing to do and the right way to do it.”

When pushed on the subject, Dan Costalis replied he was open to the idea of one day telling the twin brothers about the new branch. But as he says: “In all honesty, I’d rather that Dom and Tom didn’t know about the branch. The key to the company’s success has always been never letting the right hand know what the left hand is doing… or in this case, never letting either hand know what the brain is up to.”

Disclaimer: For real, there actually IS a Chicago office. Want proof?

Dom & Tom launch Underground Baseball iPhone app

Dom & Tom are proud to announce another mobile project crossing the finish line: Triumph Books' Underground Baseball Encyclopedia is now an iPhone app!

Baseballpedia:
So what's the deal with the book?

"Baseball history is full of unforgettable athletic achievements, heroic performers, and exhilarating moments that remind fans of everything they love about sports and honest competition. The Underground Baseball Encyclopedia is NOT about any of those things. Take a decidedly snarky trip through the history of America’s pastime – a land of overzealous mascots, bad moustaches, ballpark promotions gone awry, and inedible candy bars. And did we mention the wife swapping?"

This brand new iPhone app crams all of the crazy info of the book into your mobile device, featuring:

• Easy to navigate, search or browse A-Z

• Historical trivia

• Random quotes from players, managers, mascots, and miscreants

• Regularly updated blog posts

• Share with friends via Email, Facebook, and Twitter

* Compile a list of your favorite entries and share your love of baseball's underground with your friends

It's a completely mobile encyclopedia of useless knowledge!

The Underground Baseball Encyclopedia – it's baseball history the way it oughta be, now on iPhone!

You can also find Triumph Books and Underground Baseball on Facebook.

Dom & Tom profiled in the Huffington Post!

Dom and Tom were profiled in the Huffington Post this week as part of their Astoria Characters series! The articles, written by Nancy Ruhling, spotlight individuals from Astoria, Queens.

Check it out:

"I'm Dom," says the twin wearing the black T-shirt.

"I'm Tom," says the twin wearing the blue T-shirt.

They answer the door in that order -- Dom Tancredi, Tom Tancredi. They have their routine down to a T. In this case, Dom's T has a bright blue pyramidal design that matches the color of Tom's T. Different yet just enough alike to declare their common identity.

There's a reason the Tancredi twins go by Dom and Tom: It's the rhyme. "We have a little brother named Joey," Dom says mischievously. "He broke our rhythm."

The web and mobile app developers, whose company is aptly named Dom & Tom, are huddled around a stark black work table in their apartment, Apple MacBook Pro laptop, iPhone, iPad and Kindle at the ready for any and all questions.

This week, Tom was also mentioned in the newsletter of his alma mater, Baruch College, under the heading: Baruch Alum Featured in Huffington Post for iPad App Success. See our Ghost in the Machine article for more!

Dom & Tom welcomes new team members!

Dom & Tom, Inc. isn't just Dom and Tom anymore... We've expanded our team!

We're joined in our new 23rd St office by Junior Programmer Daniel Saad and Project Manager Audrey Dimola.

Daniel Saad began an internship with us just 6 short months ago in December, commuting an hour and a half each way for 9-hour coding days. He worked on 2 mobile applications with us: Ourspace, a social networking app for Danger Sidekick, and iPantry, an Android app for managing pantry items. When he completed his internship we brought him on as a Junior Developer, and he presented a concept to us for a humorous trivia game for dirty minds. With our guidance - and a lot of late night coding - he developed from soup to nuts our first game app: Nymphamous (available now on the Android Market!).

He now works at Dom & Tom as our in-house mobile developer.

Audrey Dimola joined forces with Dom & Tom in late February to help us manage our projects, maintain order, and increase office morale (+300pts). She enchanted the brothers Tancredi with wild tales of her Freddie Mercury impressions, and comes to D&T with a multi-disciplinary media background, including managing an arts magazine and acting as contributing writer/photographer for a popular online blog. She also managed the online presence for several clients in the social media world.

Currently, she manages Dom & Tom projects and acts as client advocate to ensure our clients' needs are met.

When you see them, congratulate them on joining Team Tancredi!
